Activity 1- Evaluate your course

What you will need:

  • A course OR course outline.
  • A platform to create your course in, teachable.com or udemy.com are two examples.
  • You do not need to have a “complete course” nor do you need to have already implemented a course.
  • You do not need students.

What you will do:

  • Join the community.
  • Use the Course evaluation tool to figure out the actual % of information your students are currently learning from your course.

Activity 2- Attend the Virtual Quick Start

What you will need:

  • Your course and a desire to learn!

What you will do:

  • Discuss what YOU want to get out of this course, tell me what you most WANT from this course!
  • Review the course activities sequence and how these will address what you want to learn.
  • Identify peers that are as committed as you are!

Activity 3- How people Learn

What you will need:

  • About 15 mins.

What you will do:

  • Read about activities that support learning.
  • Watch a short video about learning.
  • Discuss ways to apply what you have learned.

Activity 4- Evaluate learning in a course

What you will need:

  • Provide at least 1 person free access to your course.
  • A peer and free access to their course.

What you will do:

  • Using the provided worksheet and what you learned in the discussion above you will evaluate at least 1 person’s course.
  • At least one other person will evaluate your course.

Activity 5- Improve learning in your course

What you will need:

  • Your course.
  • Course evaluations from Activity 4.

What you will do:

  • Review course recommendations from peer reviewer.
  • Review course recommendations you provided to your peer course, can you apply any of those recommendations to your own course?
  • Implement the recommendations that are helpful.
  • Work with community members to help you implement changes.

Activity 6- Optional second course review

What you will need:

  • Your course and changes from Activity 5.
  • Peer community member(s).

What you will do:

  • This is an optional course review with our community, you may open your course up for free to as many members in our community as you like, and you will work together with community members to make additional course improvements.
